Meta Launches an Open-Source AI Music Generator

Meta released a sample of a new AI music generator up on Hugging Face. You can start with an existing music sample like a classical piece from an orchestra, and then transform it into something like a 90s R&B track with a vibraphone or a metal song with cumbia rhythm.

It is still in early development so the sound quality isn’t there yet, but it’s a glimpse of AI advancements outside of text and image generation.

Sound generation is currently limited to 12 seconds.
