Below is an example where I feel copyright should not be allowed (under current rules it would not no matter what).
In this case, I included an artist's name in the prompt and the prompt overall is very simple. Coby Whitmore was an illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post and was responsible for many covers.
However, has he ever painted a Porsche 911 in Monaco at night? I don’t think so.
So would this be copyright infringement by mentioning his name to drive the style?
Possibly…
However, I could describe his style or secretly have AI describe his style and create something similar without mentioning his name. In that case, would it be so evident that this was inspired by Coby Whitmore? Again, I don’t think so.
It is going to take a long time, but copyright law is going to be going through some revisions over the next 50 years with the introduction of this technology and the way businesses will use it.
