AI Update: Why AI Will Save The World + A Tool To Find Software Opportunities

Today, Marc Andreessen tries to calm the panic, a couple tools to check out and a prompt for LinkedIn

Why AI Will Save The World

Well, it seems like Marc Andreessen has donned his superhero cape and is here to save us all from the AI apocalypse. In his blog post "Why AI Will Save the World," he takes on the role of a digital evangelist, preaching the gospel of AI, and putting to bed all the doomsday prophecies that have been making the rounds. With all the charm and subtlety of a sledgehammer, Andreessen lays out why AI will not only avoid destroying the world but may actually be its salvation.

Andreessen starts with a quick and dirty primer on what AI is (and isn't), essentially comparing it to any other computer program - just one that's way smarter and more useful. But before you can cry "Skynet," he assures us that AI is not a rogue program waiting to wipe out humanity, but rather a tool to enhance everything we care about.

His vision of the future reads like the script of a utopian sci-fi movie. Every child gets an AI tutor with infinite patience and knowledge. Every person has an AI assistant ready to lend a hand in any aspect of life. Scientists, artists, engineers, and even CEOs all get their own AI sidekicks, magnifying their decisions and productivity. He paints a picture of a world where AI leads to a golden age of creativity, innovation, and prosperity.

However, despite this rosy outlook, Andreessen acknowledges the existence of a widespread 'moral panic' surrounding AI. He argues that this fear and paranoia is irrational, and part of a historical pattern that accompanies the emergence of any significant new technology.

Andreessen believes AI is not just the future, but a bright one at that. It's a bold, optimistic take that would probably make even the most hardened AI skeptic consider a second look... or at least get a good chuckle out of his infectious enthusiasm. As for the rest of us, we might as well sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the AI-powered future Andreessen promises is just around the corner.

Tools To Check Out

Painfinder.co
This tool is great for researching problems people are having with current software. It allows you to chat with 25K user software reviews and find opportunities to create software to solve their problems. I tested it by asking “What kind of software would help restaurants manage their business?”

Blobr.io
This platform helps you create ChatGPT plugins that tie into any API. This would be great if you already have an API or you could tie it into other APIs of software you use in your business. NOTE: this would not be a Plugin available in the store but a private plugin available to up to 15 users.

AI Images Are Selling For Higher Prices

I have now seen multiple reports of the impact of accepting AI images on Adobe Stock. Being the only platform accepting them has really helped their bottom line and increased the number of artists selling on the platform.

It appears AI images have a lower Sell Thru Rate, but they produce a higher Revenue per Download. The average revenue per download for a regular image is $1.22 whereas an AI image is $1.94. That’s a 62% increase.

I suspect this is in part because the AI images look better than a lot of regular stock photography.
