BREAKING NEWS
Google Releases Gemini Today
Bard, Google's AI language model, is about to receive its biggest upgrade yet with the introduction of Gemini. Gemini is Google's most advanced model with sophisticated multimodal reasoning capabilities.
It is designed to be flexible and optimized for different sizes, from data centers to mobile devices.
The rollout of Gemini in Bard will happen in two phases. First, a specifically tuned version of Gemini Pro will be integrated into Bard, providing more advanced reasoning, planning, and understanding capabilities.
This upgrade is available now in English. Then, early next year, Bard Advanced will be introduced, offering access to the most advanced models and capabilities, starting with Gemini Ultra.
Gemini Pro has already outperformed GPT-3.5 in industry-standard benchmarks, including in tasks like Massive Multitask Language Understanding and grade school math reasoning.
In blind evaluations, Bard with Gemini Pro has been rated as the most preferred free chatbot compared to leading alternatives.
To showcase the capabilities of Bard with Gemini Pro, Google collaborated with YouTuber and educator Mark Rober to create the most accurate paper airplane.
The results were impressive, demonstrating how Bard can enhance the creative process.
Users can try out Bard with Gemini Pro today for text-based prompts, with support for other modalities coming soon.
It is currently available in English in over 170 countries and territories, with plans to expand to more languages and regions in the near future.
Gemini Ultra, the largest and most capable model, will be available in Bard Advanced early next year. It is designed for highly complex tasks and can quickly understand and act on different types of information, including text, images, audio, video, and code.
Google is currently conducting safety checks and will launch a trusted tester program before opening Bard Advanced to more users.
Google has prioritized safety in Bard, incorporating contextual help and user feedback to improve the model. The goal is to make Bard the best AI collaborator in the world, empowering users to create, learn, and explore.
With the introduction of Gemini, Google is taking a significant step forward in enhancing Bard's capabilities. The integration of Gemini's advanced reasoning and understanding capabilities into Bard opens up new possibilities for collaboration with AI.
It will be interesting to see how users leverage these advancements and what impact they will have on various industries and fields.
